Oh wow, spring is almost over? Time does fly by quickly when you’re busy, doesn’t it?
Well, it’s already May and we’ve encountered a problem! We did not have a blog post last month!
Oh my, such a disaster.
This month’s blog post may not be as long as the one in March, or even the one from February but whatever at this point, it’s a new blog post about the game’s progress after all.
Demo progress
We’ve been making great progress on the demo despite mostly focusing on two aspects!
As we stand right now this is what we have to do before we can release a demo:
- Finish the Remade Main Menu after countless complaints.
- Small adjustments to Chapter 1 Episode 1 Remake (balancing sections and fixing certain bugs to be specific)
- Finish Chapter 1 Episode 2 Remake
- Make the level layout
- Decorate the level accordingly
- Make a second theme song for a very specific section of the level
- Animate cutscenes
- Make more posters
- Finish Chapter 1 Episode 4 (VERY HUGE MAP, May take two months to decorate, the layout itself is done)
Now let’s see what we’ve been working on the last month.
10th Weapon
Introducing the Blazer-S, a heavy but powerful flamethrower. I suppose it does not need any more explanation.
Speaking of weapons, this one is unrelated to the flamethrower but
Weapon name changes
Due to legal reasons, we cannot have weapon names such as “AK-74M”, “Glock” etc. in the game so we decided to give them some generic names while keeping the models and everything as it was before. We will not list them here for now, you’ll see them in the game whenever the demo is done.
Main Menu Rework V3 or V4
Yes, it’s being remade again. Due to numerous complaints, we decided to start remaking the main menu into something that looks less like a “cheap DVD menu”.
Episode 1 Chapter 1 Remake
We’ve been remaking the first story level to fit the newer standards that we have set for ourselves.
The game is getting a subtitle
After recent conversations with some people we’ve come to the decision to add a subtitle to our game so it will not be confused with other games with the exact same title. The subtitle is “Rise from the Ashes” thus the game being now called “The Nameless: Rise from the Ashes”.
Speaking of that…
We’re now on Bandcamp.
The first volume of the OST is available on Bandcamp. As this is not fully complete yet it will get updates.
You can download it for the low low price of ZERO euros. If you want to, however, you can donate, and all donations will go towards the game’s development.
You can get it here.
Here’s the cover art render with and without text.
End
Well, there sure is not much content to show off this month but we’re happy we could make this much for you. Thanks for reading, enjoy this deep-fried image of the game’s protagonist remade in Metahuman Creator for the lolz.
